Scuba diving in Mozambique is characterized by untouched and unspoilt beauty as the reefs are sheltered by islands from the open ocean. Vast arrays of tropical and subtropical fish abound here such as butterfly fish, wrasse and moray eels. Keep a look out for lionfish with its toxin coated spines and marvel at the hard and soft coral colours that nourish the reef. Bring your camera for this artistic masterpiece of Mother Nature. |

Cape Town Marine Life
( 1 items )
Be prepared for a scuba diving encounter unlike any you have had before! The convergence of the warm Benguela current from Mozambique and the cool Agulhas current from the Antarctic has created a kaleidoscope of marine life more diverse than anywhere else in the world. With scuba diving temperatures ranging between 8?C - 20?C, ocean currents and wind direction play a large role in determining the best dive sites for the day. The most stunning colours are found in soft corals, sponges and urchins which characterize scuba diving in Cape Town, fish such as Red Roman, Two-tone fingerfin, hottentot and shyshark are common in the area. Box jellyfish can be encountered in large shoals creating beautiful white clouds above you and cuttlefish spring rainbow colours in defence. Octopi can be found in cracks of rocks and in cavities of wrecks.
